The Clean Stream Champion Coloring Contest gave New Castle County kids the opportunity to practice their artistic skills, learn some everyday environmental science, and win some prizes. Nearly 650 kids entered the contest in one of two categories, coloring and freehand, by creating art representing one of the five Clean Stream Champion topics: Scoop the Poop, Garden for Water & Life, Only Rain Down the Drain, Reduce Household Chemicals, and Cease the Grease.
Each coloring page entry was entered into a sweepstakes drawing for one of 35 Amazon.com gift cards valued at $50 each, while the freehand entries were judged by New Castle County Department of Public Works staff and awarded one of several prizes:
- First Prize: Amazon.com gift certificate in the amount of $250
- Second Prize: Amazon.com gift certificate in the amount of $125
- Third Prize: Amazon.com gift certificate in the amount of $75
- 9 runners up: Amazon.com gift certificate in the amount of $50
In addition to these great prizes, each of the 12 freehand category winners will also be featured in a Clean Stream Champion 2021 calendar.
With over 400 entries to the freehand category, all the amazing art that was submitted made it extremely hard to choose the winners. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to our winners!
