For the second year, New Castle County’s Clean Stream Champion program is partnering with The Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative (TEDI) to help distribute free native trees to Delawareans. These trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year, we have doubled the number of trees to 500. The only requirement to obtain a free native tree is that you are a Delaware resident. Trees will be limited to one per resident and must be picked up at Glasgow Park on November 2. For more information on the event, visit CleanStreamChampion.org/TEDI
Trees are natural champions. From our state forests to our city parks, trees improve air and water quality, preserve soil, and support wildlife – and they play a critical role in helping to fight climate change. Since 2020, TEDI has helped to plant over 250,000 trees through organized tree plantings and trees given away for independent planting.
